I hold an MSW from Walla Walla University. I have experience with Rogerian client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic/relational therapy. Additionally, I have completed initial training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques, Internal Family Systems Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I am comfortable helping with issues around anxiety, depression, PTSD (from adult or childhood trauma, single event or ongoing), personality disorders, family turmoil (including domestic violence), identity issues, sexuality concerns, and issues stemming from social injustices such as houselessness and oppression. I am also LGBTQ+ allied and have experience working with folks whose families are constructed in all sorts of ways. I have previously worked as a case manager, an inpatient mental health therapist, a counselor in a mental health agency, and as a university instructor, administrator, and program developer.
A little about me outside the office: Even though I am working in Vancouver, I am a lifelong Oregonian (fourth generation!), and my life when I’m not working is filled with spending time with my husband, adult son, friends, and my two tuxedo cats (Lucy and Zelda), and hobbies such as reading, baking, and lots of fancy knitting.
